Zappi wallboxes

You can use the Zappi charger with the solar panels or wind turbine of your home or business. This way you can fully charge your electric car with your own electricity production! Even cheaper for you and better for the environment.

The Zappi is an excellent choice for charging electric cars on several fronts:

Why buy a Zappi charging station?

  • The Zappi ev charger is the most comprehensive charging station that you can connect to solar panels or a wind turbine - this smart charger is focused on the future.
  • Thanks to Dynamic Load Balancing, a Zappi ev -charger only uses the available power to charge your car at maximum strength. This way you do not have to take into account other consumers (devices) in your house when you are charging and you prevent power failures.
  • The smart Zappi charger has three different programs to charge your car in a smarter way:
    1. ECO) In eco mode, charging continues until your electric car is fully charged. If necessary, a minimum amount of mains power is used. Your Zappi will therefore switch to mains power if your own production is not enough to charge. The limit is 1.4 kW.
    2. ECO+) With this eco mode, the charging speed is adjusted to limit the use of mains power and will pause charging when too much or some mains power is used (depending on the settings). It is possible to charge the EV with only excess renewable energy, provided this is more than 1.4 kW. In short; this mode is mainly used to only use self-generated power for charging.
    3. FAST) This fast charge mode charges the EV the fastest and uses mains power when there is not enough excess generated power to reach maximum charging speed. The actual charging speed depends on the car and the mains voltage.
  • You can monitor and control the Zappi from anywhere via your phone, with the clever and free Myenergi app .
  • The Zappi charging stations can be connected to other Myenergi devices via Myenergi's energy management system. This way you can monitor and control your hybrid heat pump, solar panels and underfloor heating from one place and with clear graphics.

How do I install the Zappi charging station at home?

If you're handy, you can install a Zappi charging station yourself using the included instructions.

Install CT clamps

Keep in mind that for a Zappi charging station you need to install 1 or 3 CT clamps, depending on whether you have a 1-phase or 3-phase connection. The 22 kW version comes with 3 CT clamps and the 1 phase 7.4 kW version comes with 1 CT clamp. These CT clamps are for the dynamic load balancing. If you go for the solar pole connection, you have to order 1 extra CT clamp for the 1 phase version and 3 extra CT clamps for the 3 phase version.

CT clamps (Clamp Terminal) are sensors that take measurements for the energy consumption in your home or the yield of your solar panels. The CT clamp forwards this info to your Zappi charging station, for the eco programs and load balancing. This way the Zappi charging station knows exactly when your panels supply enough power to charge your car. The clamps must therefore be connected directly to the main switch.

The CT clamps can be connected to the Zappi via a cable, but the connection can also be wireless. The CT clamps then go into the Harvi instead of directly into the charging station. The CT clamp includes a 5 meter cable as standard. The Harvi does not need to be connected to a power supply, it draws its power from the CT clamp. The harvi has a wireless range of about 15 meters. Do you want dynamic load balancing at a distance longer than 15 meters? It is also possible to connect the meter box with the new Zappi V2.1 via a UTP cable. The harvi has 3 inputs for CT clamps. If you want to connect the charging station with dynamic load balancing and with the solar poles, you need 6 CT clamps in total, as mentioned earlier. If you want to do this wirelessly, you will also need 2 Harvi's .

Frequently Asked Questions about Zappi

Do Zappi charging stations work with dynamic rates from your energy supplier?

Yes, Zappi V2.1 wallboxes support dynamic rates from your energy provider if you have a dynamic contract. This means that the prices you pay for energy differ per hour and the Zappi wallbox may or may not charge depending on the applicable rate. This means you automatically only charge at the cheapest times for you.

Do I need solar panels to use Zappi?

No. Zappi is indeed the best charging station for the use of solar panels, but you can also charge electrically via regular mains electricity or via energy generated via a wind turbine.

What is the difference between Zappi v2 and the newer version?

The biggest difference between the Zappi v2 and the 2.1 is that the latest version has a built-in hub. This is a small device that connects your Zappi to the internet. This means that the software of your charging station is always automatically up to date. With the Zappi v2, you have to purchase a separate hub for this.

How many years of warranty is there on Zappi charging stations?

Zappi products come with a three-year warranty from the date of purchase.

What is the difference between a 3-phase Zappi charging station and a 1-phase?

The biggest difference between a 1-phase and a 3-phase charging station is that a 3-phase charging station allows three times faster charging. This way your car is charged at maximum strength in just one night.
