It took a bit longer than expected, but myenergi has finally announced the latest Zappi V2.1 model. What has changed, improved and what will it cost? We are happy to explain in this zappi charging station review. Check out this and other Zappi models on our Zappi page.
Features myenergi Zappi V2.1 charging station
- Built-in Hub; this keeps the Zappi's software constantly up-to-date and allows you to read and control the Zappi remotely via the free myenergi app on your mobile phone. You can find the app here:
- Ethernet & WiFi connection.
- Suitable for both 1 and 3 phase connections.
- Power between 3.7 and 22 kW depending on how the charging station is connected.
- Socket or 6.5M fixed cabling.
- Possibility to expand with 3 wireless CT clamps, enabling active load balancing via the Harvi (available as an accessory). The Harvi also records the generation power of your solar panels and electricity consumption at home.
- Built-in earth leakage switches; for alternating current up to 30mA and direct current up to 6mA = Type B.
- Charge only your self-generated solar power through ECO and ECO+ modes.
- Contains Dynamic Load Balancing which means the charging station automatically consumes only the available power and you do not have to take your other electrical devices into account.
Technical improvements Zappi V2.1
No Hub needed any more - Ethernet or WiFi
One of the biggest changes of the Zappi V2.1, is that you no longer need a Hub (accessory of myenergi) to connect between your Zappi wallbox and the myenergi app on your mobile phone. This is because the Zappi V2.1 now has a built-in Hub. This means that the wallbox is now equipped with a network connection. So when connecting the new Zappi, a network cable can be laid to connect the wallbox wired to the LAN network.
Should laying a network cable not be possible, no problem! This is because the Zappi V2 1 also features a built-in WiFi access point, allowing you to connect your charging station wirelessly.
Other technical improvements
Besides the built-in Hub, myenergi has also implemented a number of other technical improvements in the Zappi V2.1 compared to the previous model. These improvements should increase the convenience for the installer, but also prevent any malfunctions and failures. We have briefly summarised these changes for you:
- Power supply connection with simple plug-in system, making screw connection a thing of the past.
- CT (Clamp Terminal) connections with plug-in connectors.
- Ribbon cable between the power supply and the CPU (Central Processing Unit) provided with a click system.
- RCD board better attached with a mini-PCI-e slot.
- CPU board provided with two mini-PCI-e slots.
- HMI board can now be replaced separately.
